MINISTRY OF HEALTH COVID-19 UPDATE JUNE 9 2021

COVID-19 Daily Release 9 June 2021

The Ministry of Health received 1698 test results since the last update, and zero (0) were positive for COVID-19. This gives a test positivity rate of 0.0%.

Additionally, there was one (1) recovery and no deaths.

There are currently seven (7) active cases, of which;

  • Seven (7) are under public health monitoring and;
  • None are in the hospital.

Since March 2020, Bermuda has recorded 2497 total confirmed cases of COVID-19; out of those, 2457 persons have recovered, and sadly, 33 COVID related deaths

The source of all cases is as follows:

  • 308 are Imported
  • 2185 are classified as local transmission of which:
    • 1681 are Local Transmission with known contact/source and
    • 504 are Local Transmission with an unknown contact/source
  • 4 are Under Investigation

As investigations proceed, transmission categories may change. The seven-day average of our real-time reproduction number is less than one (1).  Bermuda’s current WHO country status remains “Community Transmission.

“As of June 21st the Star of India will no longer be used as a COVID testing site,” advised Minister of Health, Kim Wilson, JP, MP. “The old AS Cooper shop in the Clocktower Mall inDockyard will be used instead, and it will be open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 am until 3 pm.”   “We have increased appointment capacity, locations and accessibility throughout the island. Everyone is encouraged to book an appointment online at https://www.gov.bm/coronavirus-get-tested or call our COVID 19 HOTLINE Center 444-2498 to book an appointment should you require assistance.”

Additional testing locations and times are as follows:

  • Penno’s Wharf, Tuesdays and Thursday, 10 am until 3 pm.
  • Bulls Head Parking Monday to Saturday, 10 am until 3 pm.

For a resident needing a COVID-19 test specifically to meet the outbound testing requirement in the United States, United Kingdom, Canada or another country, please schedule a COVID-19 test at the location and time best suited for your needs. You will be able to receive test results that meet all requirements for travel.   Visitors do not need to schedule an outbound test. This will be booked automatically based on the departure date they entered on their Travel Authorisation. For those visitors whose outbound test is scheduled for the day before a day 4, 8 or 14 test, they can contact the COVID-19 Hotline to adjust their appointment.
